Working with International Educators

At work in your schools

Team Sharing

Educators worked very hard during the events to complete tasks designed to support their work when returning to their schools.

Celebrations

During the final phases of their work, these educators were truly able to see the #FACES of their students.

Data is Only One Part of the Picture

As they worked together the educators participated in opportunities to learn about each other so that they could better understand how to develop leaders once back in their schools

System Leadership

These school leaders were finding ways to have a meaningful impact in their schools upon return to class.

Data Collected and Shared

Data comes in many forms and is open to many interpretations. Working together is critical to understanding the needs of our students.

Share the Learning

These school leaders were asked to share their learning through a formal presentation at the end of the course.

Walking the Walls

Hard work pays off as system leaders come to terms with the need to work collaboratively.

Everyone is a Leader

Opportunities to take on leadership roles alternated with the chance to listen in as other leaders were able to share their experience.

Final Analyis

Great opportunities to learn mean great opportunities to implement.

... there’s so much learning that sits within these 14 Parameters. They are defensible, meaningful and invite robust conversations when seeking to find the root cause of a problem of practice. The language and understanding of this whole school approach has been and continues to be the foundation of my leadership as an advisor, principal, learner and peer. Thank you, Lyn

When the book begins with an endorsement from John Hattie, and an introduction by Alma Harris, you know this is a book to read and share. Lyn Sharratt brings her practical teaching and leading expertise to  CLARITY: What Matters Most in Learning, Teaching and Leading (Corwin, 2019) by grounding the text in the robust 14 Parameters, drawn initially from Lyn’s work as a system leader in York Region District School Board (YRDSB) in Ontario, Canada (Putting FACES on the Data. (2012). Sharratt, L. & Fullan, M. CA: Corwin Press.  The material explored in CLARITY’s 368 pages, grows from her previous works, spiraling and consolidating lessons learned from her recent work both locally and internationally. Her ongoing work with so many systems in various parts of the world demonstrates the reliability and validity of the 14 Parameters approach to System and School Improvement.

Hi Lyn, I took part in your recent Clarity webinar series. I am principal of a terrific, low ICSEA, primary school with a highly diverse student population in the SW of Western Australia. My learning from the series has helped to confirm our current path and inform our school planning processes.

Thanks for a wonderful day. The teachers I am working with are so inspired by your work. It is the driver of all the wonderful growth within the school.  Today the data shows a 30% decrease in the number of students in the lower two bands. They were so proud.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to participate in your work in using the 14 Parameter Research and the Case Management approach (Data Walls and Case Management Meetings). The two days last week in Toowoomba have given us the tools to move forward, and it is now full steam ahead. We have had non-stop meetings this week and are moving mountains very quickly. Some big decisions needed to be made and our work with you has been the catalyst for our leadership team to take action. Positive change is happening already!

Thank you again, and travel safely.

Regards,

Kelly Green
