About the event

Hear from John Hattie himself!

The Visible Learningplus school change model of professional learning is based on one simple belief: every student should experience at least one year’s growth over the course of one school year. The model translates John Hattie’s extensive research into a practical model of inquiry and evaluation. Today, schools around the world use Visible Learningplus to evaluate their impact on student achievement and make evidence-based decisions to accelerate student learning.

As part of the Visible Learning Foundation Series, this two-day institute in Toronto, ON with John Hattie, Jenni Donohoo, John Almarode, and Olivia Amador-Valerio is the first step in creating Visible Learning Schools. Exclusively provided by Corwin, Visible Learningplus is an in-depth school-change model of professional learning and development designed to provide you with practical activities and take away tools to determine the "impact" on student achievement and learning.

On the second day of the institute, choose a full day workshop with speakers Olivia Amador-Valerio and John Almarode that focuses on Visible Learning for Literacy or Visible Learning for Math. The sessions will address the Visible Learning research; its connections to literacy or mathematics teaching strategies at surface, deep, and transfer phases; and the tools for measuring the impact of your teaching in literacy or mathematics classrooms.
